The seafront Falcomatà, described by Gabriele d’Annunzio as “the most beautiful kilometre of Italy”, is most definitely the ideal place for a long, relaxing walk, immersed in the colours of nature; the blue sea on one side, the green plants on the other. Palm trees, magnolias, flowers and exotic plants give the seafront the atmosphere of a sort of botanical garden, which is why the city of Reggio Calabria is known as the “Garden City”.
During your walk you will be amazed on seeing Costellazione, Trans-lettera and Labirintite, three works that the Roman sculptress Rabarama chose for Reggio Calabria, humanoid figures coloured and covered by symbols that reflect the nature of a city made of intense, warm and welcoming colours. Finally, you will briefly visit the Roman baths, the Greek walls and the Cathedral.
